Dr Jonathan Cooper MRCGP FRCS(Ed) DRCOG MBCHB BSc

Dr Cooper has been working in Alderney since 1995 and is the longest serving GP on the island. He is a fully accedited General Practitioner and has also undergone special training in emergency medicine, child health, family planning and care of the elderly. Dr Cooper had a special interest in Minor Surgery and Endoscopy. He travels to the UK on alternate weeks, where his work enables him to keep both his surgical and medical skills up to date. Dr Cooper is a director of the St John Ambulance, HMA to the RNLI, Police Surgeon and a trustee of the Cancel Relief Fund. Off duty his is a keen sailor.

Dr Bob Mark MBBS FIMC RCSEd

Bob was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire. He qualified from Newcastle University Medical School in 1980. He is married to Denise, a former district midwife. He has two grown up step-kids, Marcus and Kathryn, and is a doting grandfather to his lovely grand-daughters, Isabel and Cecille.

Bob's career has been too long and varied to detail here. He has been a GP in inner-city Bradford and an Accident and Emergency doctor. He has also worked in remote and challenging environments such as the North Sea, former Soviet Union and in Kuwait in the aftermath of the first Gulf War. Bob has a continuing interest in the pre-hospital management of patients with severe injuries and also in the management of long term conditions. When he is not working, being a family man or keeping his medical knowledge and skills up to date, Bob likes to paddle his own canoe (preferably somewhere warm and sunny).

Dr Jenny Duggal BSc MB BCh DRCOG

Jenny qualified from Cardiff in 1984 and has been a GP since 1988. She lives in Salisbury with her husband (an anaethetist) and three children, all currrently teenagers. Jenny works part time in Private General practice in the UK, as well as NHS locums and the fortnightly trips to Alderney. Gynaecology and contraception are areas of interest within general practice.

In addition to General Practice, Jenny also works for the Army Officer Selection Board, carrying out medicals on potential army officers. This resulted in one memorable trip to Fiji in 1984.

Hobbies include music (amateur flute player and more amateurish trumpet!), skiing and more recently, golf.
