How do I contact a Doctor out of hours?
There is a Doctor on duty 24 hours every day. To contact the Doctor out of surgery hours please phone the usual number (822077) and you will be transferred or a message will give you an alternative number to call.
What do I do in an emergency, eg severe illness or injury?
If in doubt feel free to call the surgery number 822077. In an obvious emergency requiring an ambulance and care in Accident and Emergency (eg heart attack or serious accident) please call the ambulance service on 822 822.
Where is the Accident and Emergency department?
The accident and emergency department is located at the Mignot Memorial Hospital. This is on the north of the island, west of the harbour. The entrance to the hospital is on the same side of the road as the ambulance and fire stations at Crabby.
How do I pay for my care?
In common with the rest of the health care system in the Baliwick of Guernsey we are not part of the UK National Health System, and so your care must be paid for by yourself, health insurance, State contributions or a mixture of these.
What are the charges?
Charges are made at the BMA recommended rates. Full list of prices available at the Surgery.
What services does the practice provide?
We provide all the usual services you would expect to find at any family doctor's practice, including care of minor and major illness, vaccinations and immunisations, advice on health aspect of travel, management of long term conditions, palliative care etc. |
